Surrounding ourselves with more or less complex rituals we try to avoid the undeniable fact that, sooner or later, we will all listen to Death whispering in our ears the words "Nemini Parco" ("I forgive no one").
There are believers, agnostics and atheists regarding divinities, but no one doubts the existence of Death. We are constantly looking for a spark of hope in the darkness of the ignorance so as not to let fear permanently obscure our soul.
With suggestive and visually compelling images, the work of photographer Jesus Monterde, far from being an ode to death, pretends to be a claim to life, to the hopeful struggle we all hold daily not to forget to look for a ray of light in the middle of so much darkness. And maybe find it.
