For five years, Laura Silleras has walked through the streets of her neighborhood to build a photographic proposal that transcends the visual and offers us a new way of approaching the reality of a neighborhood that is at the center of public debate as a result of urban, political and social tensions. Inspired by a quote from The Neverending Story by Michael Ende, the series is proposed as a tour of the Cabanyal (Valencia) in which the idea of time plays a fundamental role.
Laura Silleras (Valencia, 1979) began to photograph in a self-taught way while studying Audiovisual Communication at the Universitat de València. She received an honorable mention in the first Photo Meeting OCEMEX (Mexico City, 2011), represented the second edition of the Photo Meeting Ojo de Pez (Barcelona, 2012), was selected in the Portfolio section of the international photography festival Paraty em Foco (Brazil, 2013), and was a finalist in the 20th edition of La Caixa's FotoPress (2015). In 2016 she obtained the Roberto Villagraz scholarship in EFTI to study the Master of Contemporary Photography. In 2018 she was awarded the Fragments grant, through which she has published her first book together with an exhibition at the MuVIM museum in Valencia in March 2019.
