David Hornillos

David Hornillos (Madrid, 1974) studied photography at Blank Paper School of Photography, Madrid. He is a member of the collective Fotoaplauso.

He was awarded the Documentary Photography ARCO 2013 prize.

His first photobook, Mediodía (Dalpine, 2014) was shortlisted for the Photobook Award Fotobook Festival Kassel 2014. His second book, Ustedes, los vivos (Dalpine, 2018) was shortlisted for The Rencontres d'Arles Prix du livre 2019 and for the Best Book of the Year PhotoEspaña 2019.

His work has been exhibited both individually and collectively in shows such as 
“Blank Paper, Histories du présent immédiat”, Rencontres d'Arles 2017, Arles (France), “Photography & Resistance. A New Generation of Spanish Photographers”, FOMU, Antwerpen (Belgium) 2016 or “On drawing: Apperceive of Liberation”, Wuhan Art Museum, Wuhan (China), 2016.
