'Nice to Meet You was a rigorous learning process in which I approached the subject, trying to reflect the photographic diversity found in a classic family album: weddings, birthdays, holidays… Later, stepping back, I used this subject in a wider context, emphasizing the sensation of disbelief before what we are seeing in the photograph. I always look for these landscapes defining the tragical relationship that we have with the environment, which is nonetheless the projection of an inner landscape scratched by a life difficult to endure. A life that, like the pictures, could be entitled: Based on a true story.'
