The months April, May and June of 2010, photographer Thomas Manneke lived in Liège, a town in the Walloon part of Belgium. There he made the photographs for his book. It is the third book in a series of personal portraits of European cities. Manneke earlier portrayed Vilnius (2005) and Odessa (2007).
