ANTIFACHADA/ENCUADERNAçAO DOURADA
In Antifachada/Encuadernaçao dourada, Bob Wolfenson presents two photo-essays –Anti-façade and Golden Binding– which, put together, awaken reflection on our relationship with the city and, with a certain distance, inspire a nostalgic revision of those photo-albums long-forgotten in the corners of memory.
Antifachada is composed of various unfoldable posters showing Sao Paulo’s urban landscape, the monumental scale of its buildings in high definition, almost allowing to see the interiors. Encuadernaçao dourada presents the opposite: what lies behind the curtains of those windows, a series of autobiographic images that create an intimate visual story. Bob Wolfenson creates thus a confrontation between the public and the private space, between the complexity of urban processes and social relations and the daily spectacle of intimate life.
In fact, in this work Bob Wolfenson perceives space and deals with it visually as if he were a spectator watching the fantastic show of life.
